Thanks you Lovelle for sharing your thoughts and emotions as you move thru this part of your journey. My grandmother died of lung cancer last year, she did not live in a place where she had the option of choosing when to exit. I’m so glad that you do, and that you will have that choice - whether you use it is a personal decision, but having the choice seems like a relief.

The right to die is every bit as important as the right to live. It is ourselves we are talking about not others. I am not at this moment thinking of dying. I am 72 years old and well and happy. I just would be so releived if I knew that among my choices as I age, I have that option

Why don’t we just replace the word “drug” every time she says it with the word “handgun” and we will be more honest with what she is actually doing here! This is nothing but a long drawn out expose on how we live in a world where it is both okay and possible to commit suicide legally only to be able to call it “death with dignity.”
